Easy2Gro LM: Maximum performance, reduced methane — Revolutionary feed developed here in WA

February 26, 2026

We’ve officially launched our new revolutionary sheep feed, Easy2Gro LM. This breakthrough feed is designed to enhance sheep productivityand farm profitability whilst significantly reducing methane emissions.

At Milne Feeds we know sheep producers want feeds that work in the real world — delivering strong growth, good feed efficiency and reliable results. That’s exactly what Easy2Gro LM is designed to do.

This product hasn’t appeared overnight. It’s the result of more than a decade of research, starting in the lab where our team used an artificial rumen system to test hundreds of ingredient combinations. The goal was simple: maximise digestion and performance, whilst reducing enteric methane.

Once we identified the best formulations, we scaled them up and put them to the test where it matters — in the feedlot. More than 2,500 merino and merino cross lambs were involved in commercial-scale trials at our Feed Trial Centre near Mt Barker. Lambs gained as much as 500g per day, while methane emissions were reduced by over 70%, compared to a typical home-mix ration of lupins, barley, straw and pre-mix.

Importantly, methane wasn’t guessed — it was measured. At our trial feedlot, we use Open-Path FTIR technology to continuously monitor emissions under commercial conditions. This system provides accurate, continuous data over the entire feeding period without disrupting normal feedlot operations.

Throughout the process we worked closely with Dr April Leytem (USDA-ARS, retired; Washington State University), who has helped with trial design, equipment setup and data verification. Trial design and results were reviewed by USDA scientists to ensure accuracy and consistency — giving confidence in the results.

So, what does this mean on-farm?

Easy2Gro LM pellets are formulated with our Hyfibe and patent-pending LM technologies to promote a healthy rumen, better nutrient uptake and strong liveweight gain — while reducing enteric methane. The high-fibre design means they can be fed ad lib to sheep straight off pasture and used for trail feeding, confinement or full feedlot programs.

Available in bulk, bulka-bags and 20kg bags, Easy2Gro LM fits easily into a range of production systems 4mm and 9mm pellet configuration. Performance will vary depending on sheep breed, diet, water quality andmanagement.

With a recent $50 million expansion of our Welshpool feedmill incorporating LM technology and doubling our production capacity, aided by a $5m WA government Investment Attraction Fund grant, we’re fully geared up to supply producers across WA and beyond.

Easy2Gro LM gives sheep producers a practical way to improve feed efficiency, lift growth rates, reduce emissions and strengthen profitability — a feed that works hard for livestock and the farmer’s bottomline.
