What does Milne Feeds, a WA family-owned stockfeed manufacturer, specialising in ruminant feeds have to do with Flybuster? Flies are a problem that affect all WA farmers, causing a nuisance and stress to staff, spreading disease amongst animals, and also causing stress and production losses for livestock. So, when the team at Milne came across Flybuster, a n innovative, natural fly bait and trap, we jumped at the opportunity to make this solution available to Ag enterprises in WA.
Milne took on distribution of the Flybuster fly control system in late 2024 and the results during the first season in the field were excellent. Now in full swing in its second season, Flybuster is going viral! With the late rains, flies this season have come out in high numbers, and the demand for Flybuster is extraordinary. Customers are sharing their results –trapping huge amounts of flies within hours of setting up the traps. Here are some of the shared results:
Trap set up and first day results
Flies are a challenge for many of our customers. Flybuster offers an economical, easy-to-use, eco-friendly solution for agricultural operations. The Flybuster traps and baits are available direct from Milne in bulk quantities, and from stockfeed stores in single units. We’re really excited to be able to offer these to customers and livestock businesses. The feedback is fantastic. We’ve been using some around our site and farms, and the results are excellent.
The best part about Flybuster is that it contains a natural bait, with no animal products or pesticides, making it bio-secure, safe to handle and easy to dispose of.
Here is some more information:
Trap – 10 x traps per carton (10 trap MOQ) – traps last for about 3-4 years
Bait - 15kg tub (fills 60 traps once – therefore 1 month supply for 60 traps, 2 months’ supply for 30 traps, 3 months’ supply for 20traps)
Smaller farms are tending to get 20 or 30 traps to start them off. Larger livestock operations, feedlots and dairies are going for100-200 traps. They should be placed every 15 meters around the ‘hot spots’ like yards, sheds, feedlots etc and emptied/refilled every 4 weeks. During fly season, we’ve been topping up the water in ours every week or two. Each trap takes 250g of bait.
