Introducing "Feed for Thought" Podcast by Milne Feeds

September 25, 2023

In the ever-evolving world of agriculture and animal nutrition, staying informed and up-to-date is key to success. That's why we're excited to present "Feed for Thought," Milne Feeds' latest venture into the world of podcasting. Our podcast made its official debut in August, and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you.

Hosted by the knowledgeable and engaging Thomas Moir, a well-known figure in regional WA due to his previous work with Triple M and Rural Focus, "Feed for Thought" is your one-stop-shop for insightful discussions, expert tips, and the latest trends affecting the agriculture and animal nutrition industry. Our first episode features an informative chat with Milne Feeds General Manager, Michael Tarling, who gives us a brief snapshot of Milne Feeds - the history of the company, the changes and development Milne has undergone over time, and how Milne operates today as a leading producer of pelleted feed.

The objective is to give more voice to regional WA: the people and the issues that we face.  Each episode features local farmers and industry professionals discussing topical content and sharing their experiences.  In episode 2 we catch up with York farmer, Mitch Collins, who shares the progress with their sheep and cropping enterprise and gives some background on how the family became the Milne York Depot operators. Episode 3 features two farmers’ experiences with feeding sheep and trading grain for EasyOne®.

Upcoming episodes will feature John Hassell, President of WAFarmers, who will discuss why membership of a representative body such as WAFarmers is important, live sheep exports, the success of WAFarmers in getting the WA Cultural Heritage Act scrapped, the impact of the removal of the barley tariff into China, challenges and developments for farm biosecurity, and the low level of parliamentary representation that regional WA has.  Greg Watts, CEO of C Wise, will also be a guest speaker and will discuss the trials they have undertaken recently and issues facing WA farmers in relation to soil health and sustainability.

The Milne Feeds podcast isn’t just our story, it is for everything Ag in WA and we want to hear from you too. If you have a compelling tale to share from your experience in farming, we encourage you to reach out to our Sales Manager, Paul Nenke, on 0407 720 040. Your experiences, challenges and successes matter to us, and we're committed to bringing them to the forefront.
