The Milne Feeds Tenterden Depot, located at Australian Mineral Fertilisers (AMF), is now one year old. We take a look at how the past 12 months have shaped up for the Tenterden Depot Team.
The 2021 growing season resulted in a record year for most Western Australian grain growers, due to the length of the growing season and relatively high rainfall. Tenterden certainly did not miss out, with the season “break” in February with 55ml and season “finish” in November with 33ml. A total of 660ml was recorded evenly through the 10 month growing season that was 2021. Given the length and quality of the season for growing sheep feed, one would expect sheep feed sales to be well down - right? Wrong. The Milne Feeds Tenterden depot had a very solid first year, which can be attributed to the quality of the Milne Feeds products, the quick and easy loading and weighing capacity at the depot, and the friendly, professional team at AMF. AMF Production Manager, Murray Wallinger said that: “Being a depot for Milne Feeds products is a great addition to our fertiliser business. When clients are in picking up their fertiliser they also discuss sheep feeding and vice versa. We provide a quick turn around for all clients, from a semi-trailer load through to a couple of bulka bags.”
Murray also went on to say that the Australian Mineral Fertilisers business, which mainly supplies broad-acre grain growers and incorporates the Grow Safe® products, had a very solid year in 2021. The higher cropping/production potential warranted higher input. An interesting aside was that Covid lockdowns also created more demand for the Grow Safe® range, as gardeners placed increased emphasis on the home garden.
