WA Farmers ran their very popular annual Dairy Conference in July and, with 120 participants, it was the largest turnout for several years. Milne AgriGroup General Manager, Michael Tarling, was a guest speaker at the event. Michael shared his insights about Milne AgriGroup and his Independent Director role at WA Farmers, with regard to the marketing and brand development of their retail range – WA Farmers First.

Michael discussed how Milne AgriGroup has chosen to go further down the value chain with Mt Barker Free Range Chicken by processing, packing and marketing their own farm produce to the retail market. Michael hopes to bring some of this retail experience to WA Farmers in his role as a board member in the development of WA Farmers First 2 litre Milk and WA Farmers First Eggs. In this program, $0.40 from the sale of each unit of WA Farmers First products goes towards providing community education through the Food You Can Trust and Ag Academy programs.
